Which Camera Rain Cover to Choose
|

All our camera covers are made of waterproofed ripstop nylon. They are extremely durable and will provide "all-weather" protection for your valuable gear for many years.
Colors
- WHITE -- the most popular color -- you can see thru the fabric when it's touching the camera controls so you can read camera buttons. TTL flash works thru the fabric as well. Ultralight & ultracompact.
- BLACK -- for photographers who like a "traditional" look. Although they're made of the same kind of fabric as our white covers, you can NOT see camera buttons thru the fabric or use a flash. Ultralight & ultracompact.
- CAMOUFLAGE -- The best choice for wildlife photographers; however, many customers also prefer these covers for everyday photography. Our camo covers have a blackout coating inside to stop all light transmission, so you can use it like a "dark cloth" to help you see the camera LCD screen better to review shots you've taken. About twice the weight and size as our white & black covers.
Original or Pro?
- Our ORIGINAL rain covers provide reliable "no frills" protection.
- Our PRO rain covers add a velcro opening to attach a tripod thru the bottom of the cover (or put your hand thru).
The ORIGINAL design was used for our first cover. We wanted to make an easy-to-use cover that was effective and reliable. The cover was 15" long, came only in see-thru "white" and was intended to work with all the lenses most photographers would ever own. It could also be used for tripod or handheld shooting. This cover was met with considerable enthusiasm. Many customers offered suggestions to improve the cover to meet their own needs. Some thought it should be slightly longer (we agreed and changed it 16"), others wanted an opening for a tripod (we added the velcro opening for the PRO version), some wanted more colors (we added black and camo), and customers who owned "pro" lenses wanted more sizes (we now offer 8" - 30" in white or black, 16" - 35" in camo).

NOTE - size recommendations for WHITE covers depends on if you will be using a shoe mount flash.
These recommendations assume you are not using a tele-extender.

* 12" WHITE or BLACK - shoe mount flash will NOT be used
* 16" WHITE - shoe mount flash WILL be used

- Lenses 7-11" long (fully extended)
* 16" WHITE or BLACK - shoe mount flash will NOT be used
* 20" WHITE - shoe mount flash WILL be used
* 20" CAMOUFLAGE
- 70-200mm f/2.8
* 16" WHITE or BLACK - shoe mount flash will NOT be used
* 20" WHITE - shoe mount flash WILL be used
* 16" CAMOUFLAGE
- 80-400mm, 100-400mm
* 16" WHITE or BLACK - shoe mount flash will NOT be used
* 20" WHITE - shoe mount flash WILL be used
* 20" CAMOUFLAGE
The following size recommendations assume:
* You want to cover the lens hood (order 1 size smaller cover if you do not want to cover the hood).
* You are not using a shoe mount flash (order 1 size larger - WHITE only - if you will be using a flash).
