To shoot photos that are sharp from foreground to infinity, you need to set the camera at the hyperfocal distance for the lens and aperture you're using.
This 3.5" x 5.5" laminated cheat sheet provides hyperfocal distance data for 35mm - 210mm lenses at apertures from f/5.6 to f/32. Instructions and examples are provided on the back of the card.
NOTE - Many MF camera users are disappointed in the results they get from hyperfocal focusing techniques using the DOF scales on their lenses. That's often because the lens markings aren't conservative enough. The assumption of a .05mm circle of confusion used for this card will provide better results than the lens markings on most MF cameras.
